Jorge Alves

Born in Mirandela, in the Trás-os-Montes region of Northeastern Portugal, Jorge studied agronomy at the University of Bragança, and finished post-graduate work in enology at the Universidade Católica of Porto.

A talented winemaker with great vision, Jorge is responsible for the Quinta's wine production and management. He is at the forefront of pushing the Quinta towards achieving excellence. Between renovation, planting and replanting projects, Jorge helps to ensure the consistent, high grape quality and organic status at Quinta do Tedo.

In 2018, Jorge was elected Winemaker of the Year by the magazine, Vinho Grande Escolhas, and is currently pursuing his Masters of Wine, considered the highest credential in the wine world. He lives nearby with his wife and two children and oversees the Quinta’s daily activities.

Vincent Bouchard

Raised in Beaune, Burgundy, at the Bouchard Père et Fils estate, Vincent's grandfather taught him how to make a wine from the vineyard to the bottle. Following his grandfather's wise advice to respect the fruit, its flavor, aroma, sweetness and delicacy, Vincent has seen great success in making balanced and vibrant Portos and Red Wines.


Kay Steffey Bouchard

Californian by birth and with strong Midwestern agricultural roots, Kay has worked in the wine industry since her college years, in promoting, marketing, teaching and writing about her passion for wine.

Kay and Vincent have 3 children, Paolo, Odile, and Joe. They were introduced to Portugal and the wine world since birth. The Bouchards split their time between their Napa Valley home and the Quinta, where the family reunites during the summer to participate in the busy harvest season and enjoy the wonderful wine, gastronomy, culture and people of Portugal.
